Cut Out

Partial Cutout:

Original

For the edits, I did not do many outside the partial cutout. I did do a little cropping to make the image more focused on the focal point (lamp). Other than that I used the marque, selected the image I wanted, copied the layer and showed the white.

On this image, I cut the image out and placed it in the white. Then since there was a lot of white space, and it was mostly without any rhyme or reason, I cropped the image to really highlight the hair band. This removed all the extra white space, and by positioning it on the side, it draws the eye to the image.

  1. I really liked your light post picture, it really catches my attention. One suggestion I have for you is you could try cutting all the black sky out of the picture, leaving only the light post and ground. I think that would really help it stand out more.

  2. I love your cutouts! The light post one in particular, has a really great dark edge, which on the white backdrop makes it stand out in a really cartoon-border type way. Both of your cutouts are really well done. The colors in the flower headband could possibly be altered to be more vibrant, but it works either way. Great job.
